10 years on

Hello,

We went away for a while. A lot has happened since our last post in Feb 2014. We released a song in 2019 and went dark shortly after. The world became sick, we became distant, there was movement but not enough. We saw the ashes rain down over us in that pandemic year, due to wild fires. Then we went back to business as usual while we were still getting sick. Meanwhile our art was being co-opted and ravaged by online influencers and tech companies; for better or worse (mostly worse). Now you need to feed the leeches in order to get anything done before someone even looks at you or your art. Some of us fled the cities for a quieter life, for a life outside of the confines of those piles of concrete. Where grifting preachers used to say "end times are coming", they now say "the end times is NOW". We saw our heroes fall like many others. We are in the decline of whatever it was we all had back then. The forever wars cant last forever, maybe just lasting our lifetime. The genocides are televised and we are still selling ourselves to the highest bidder. The stage is set for something to break, we're all just waiting to see what it will be and how bad the fall out is.

We never said goodbye for a reason, there was no need, no one would care, not even ourselves. There are rumblings of a thought, a wish, a dream that need to be realized. Maybe we'll see you again, sooner rather than later.

In the meantime check out our other projects:

We are sad to say that it is now time to part ways with our bass player, Kevin. He will be leaving the band due to other obligations that require him to move out of state. We will miss him, but it was a long time coming.

We will be searching for a replacement for Kevin in the mean time. We will continue writing and hopefully this new member can fill the void that is left when Kevin leaves.

We Set Fire To The Sky

Since this band's inception we have always tried to evolve and progress in our sound and this release is the next chapter in this bands search for something more.

We Set Fire To The Sky is different in more ways than I can describe. Not only has our sound evolved into something bigger and better but the way I approached writing lyrics was different. The theme of the record is isolation; feeling isolated as a human, feeling isolated as a species, and embracing that feeling. This feeling has always been a struggle I've had within my self and it felt good to purge it into this piece.

We have always wanted to release a record our selves, and this will be the first of ours. We wanted something more tangible than what we have grown accustomed to. We wanted to get our hands dirty and get out exactly what we put in. We'd like to thank Dom/A389 for helping us with everything along the way. We would have not gotten this far if it wasn't for Dom and his patience with us.

Stefan at Vendetta records has agreed to do the pressing of the European version of this record. His version of this record will be slightly different. We appreciate his patience and dedication to this project.

Last but not least, the art work was done by Thomas Hooper. I saw a piece of his in a flash book he created and I fell in love with it. I contacted him and asked him if he would like to contribute to this project and he said he would draw a piece for us, the raven hexen above is exactly what he sent me. It is an honor to work with someone as talented and that appreciates art as much as he does. His contribution to this project means a lot.

We are waiting on the test presses for this record to come in and pre orders will be going up on Vendetta and through us.

Without further ado, here's a track from this new LP.

The Sun Gives Way To False Truths...

Originally meant for a mid 2012 release...here's a track we've been holding on to for a while. Enjoy.

Wednesday, September 5, 2012

We just finished up in the studio. Our LP is only an evolution of what we've been writing before, what we've been saying before. New sounds, new ideas, new direction. We're proud of this record. We decided to self release this LP. It has been a pleasure to work with Dom at A389 but self releasing our music has been a goal of ours for a while and I think this is a perfect landmark to start at. Stefan over at Vendetta records will be releasing our vinyl in Europe. We will have more information soon on a tentative date. We are waiting for the mixed and mastered version of this record.

Artwork is done by Thomas Hooper. If you have not seen his art/tattoos please do your self the favor and check him out. We are very thankful to have done this collaboration with him.

A389 will be putting out a flexi with a song from the SSOS/COG recording sessions with Chris Owens. Dom has been nothing but good to us and he continues to want to work with us on our releases and we greatly appreciate him for that.

Dom will also be putting out a 7inch of a new song we recorded...it's a 10 minute song split up into two separate sides. The 7inch will come with a download link of the song in its entirety.

We are finishing writing a full lengths worth of material and I'm sure details will come about soon. Some of us have been out of town/busy with school/work/life so things here were put on the backburner but we're getting back in motion.

We also have a liveset featuring new songs that have yet to be unreleased (7inch/full length). Listen to it here.

That is all.

These words...

Hello all, I apologize for not ever updating this thing. Things have been going pretty well on this side of the fence.

A lot has happened since this last writing...I'll make points.
- Recorded with Chris Owens (Lords) for the split with Seven Sisters Of Sleep
- Played a show with Gehenna, NAILS, Seven Sisters, Mistake, Creatures to celebrate the release of that record
- We have gotten great reviews from blogs, magazines, etc. etc. for our new stuff...really humbling and great to know our art is being appreciated
- Played a couple shows here and there to dust off the old songs
- That's about it

We will be going into the studio to record a new song for the new ALL ABOUT FRIENDS (think of the 90's) compilation being put out by none other than the great Rich Hall and friends. We will be sharing the record with some great bands.

We have been playing the song that will be on the compilation at our recent shows...if you've seen us lately you'll know what to expect.

We just got a practice space to finally call home. We will be in album hibernation road...we have a few songs that we have been playing that will be on the LP...we will not give our selves a deadline...you can't rush creativity. Expect some new things, new sounds, new sights, new everything...it's all part of the evolution.

I think that is all.

New Noise?

Hello all,

We will be recording this coming month (finally) for that split we once talked about and possibly just a "singles" thing. I'm not sure anymore. New songs are coming along.

That is all.

letting the dust settle...

Honestly, we haven't been doing too much since this last update...we are all busy with things that do not include this band. Chris Owens (lords) has been contacted to record our new record and I think that is going to happen...so finally new music.

We recently got reviewed on CVLTNATION you can read that review here.

We have two shows this month...

April 23rd with Capsule in San Diego...I think that falls on a Sunday.

April 30th with Torchrunner in Garden Grove.

Come one come all.

from the abyss

Hello all,

Our little stint with Braveyoung was great. If you missed them on this tour I feel sorry for you...really sorry.

We will miss them...please buy their record that just came out...look here for information on how to purchase it.

We managed to acquire 15 records for this little stint and we managed to sell them all which gives me hope. 10 of those records had hand written inserts the rest of them had printed lyrics in them.

This little stint gave us a little thirst for tour...hopefully to those few who are reading these transmissions will get to see us soon...if you haven't.

More news later...

the south will rise again

A micro-update...for those of you that read this.

We are playing with our North Carolina friends Braveyoung as they come down the west coast.

Thursday 3/10 - San Francisco at the Sub-mission art space. (2183 Mission St)
Friday 3/11 - Santa Cruz at 105 Pioneer Street.
Saturday 3/12 - Santa Barbara at Foundation Press (5959 Hollister Ave).
Sunday 3/13 - Fullerton at the Riffhaus.

We will hopefully be going into a studio of sorts and recording new songs...we're getting tired of the same old set lists.

New shirts are ready and will be available at the upcoming shows.

Best wishes for the end of times...

We haven't updated this in forever...

Where do I start? We had been hard at work writing for a split with a very very good band on A389...ironically that record label is the one who wants to work with us on that split. So...we have those songs ready to record and a possible flexi? I'm not really sure what we're doing with two songs we had written right after the EP and before the songs for the split.

On top of all this we have been writing songs for a full length. This band is not a full time thing...so things don't happen very fast and we do not play that often, which I think we all like/don't like.

We've played a handful of shows since our show with Integrity and we are hoping to play some more "bigger" shows in the near future.

We have test pressings from our 7inch EP and now they are being pressed. There was a mix up at the plant so the record was inevitably delayed.

I think that's it as far as our foreseeable future goes. Maybe I'll update this a little more.

Best wishes for the end of times.

Talks of a tour have happened, nothing is for sure...but we will be releasing a 7inch within the next two months. Until all the details have been hashed out...keep your ears to the ground.

hail 11.

These will be the only shows of the month. Come hear the new ones.

Saturday, February 6, 2010

We have a show this coming weekend on the 13th. Abandon, Rogue State, The Love Below, August Spies will also be playing this show. Apparently the show has been moved to an undisclosed location (for the time being). I'll let you know as soon as I do.

We hope we go into the recording studio soon for the 7inch we're going to record, this will follow the same road as the demo, 2 faster songs and one longer...but much better.

25 Demos later.

We have officially played our first show. The set was short and sweet. We are happy with the outcome and we thank those of you who watched. I woke up at 7 am this morning to make 25 demos for this show. Hopefully those that picked them up will enjoy them. They were a rushed version of what's to come.

We are in the process of writing for up coming releases. One 7inch. Three songs with noise contributed by Arsonists Prayer and a tentative split with the band Low Sky from Greensboro, North Carolina. These upcoming months will be busy with shows (hopefully) and practicing.

Until next time.
